September is National Yoga Month

You’ve probably heard it a few times by now: September is National Yoga Month! That means that this month there are a lot more cool things happening within the yoga community, for example visit the Yoga Health Foundation’s website to find a studio near you, where you can get a week of free yoga!

Last Saturday, San Francisco’s City of Hope, a leading research and treatment center dedicated to the prevention, treatment and cure of cancer and other life threatening illnesses, celebrated National Yoga month with a Yoga for Hope event. For this event, teams and participants raised money and shared their practice all morning long and into the afternoon. Check out their website for a list of the top fundraisers!

At Type A Yoga, in Pleasant Hill, CA, we will be celebrating National Yoga month on Sunday September 30 at 7pm with A Time for Yoga, a free community class. Over 1600 studios across the world will be participating in this event to honor the impact of yoga on our lives. On this evening, a wave of yoga will spread across the country and culminate in a short meditation at 8pm. Join us!
