Teaching Philosophy: As student and teacher of yoga, I believe that by incorporating a yoga practice into a regular fitness routine yoga has the power to define an efficient and injury-free body.

Professional Experience

09/2012 – Present: Vinyasa Yoga Instructor, Square One, Emeryville, CA

Lead three one-hour morning Vinyasa classes and one 90 minute Vinyasa class for sliding scale yoga collective. Substitute as needed.

08/2012-present: Beginner and Mixed Level Vinyasa Yoga Instructor, Type A Yoga, Pleasant Hill, CA

Lead students towards developing a mindful and healthy Vinayasa yoga practice by designing  sequences that pay special attention to strengthening and alignment.

07/2012 – 12/2012: Mixed Level Vinyasa Yoga Instructor, Fitness 19, Pleasanton, CA

Provide yoga instruction at members-only gym. Focus on incorporating plyo and endurance training into sequences to complement athletic training.

05/2011- 2/12: All Levels Vinyasa Yoga Instructor, Raw Satisfaction, San Francisco, CA

Vinyasa instruction to small groups (1-7 individuals) and private yoga instruction. Assist with managing PR and scheduling for the yoga program.

01/2011-02/2011: Six-Week Intro to Yoga Series, Chabot Space & Science Center, Oakland, CA

Provided an introductory yoga series for employees and volunteers.

7/2010-11/2010: All Levels Vinyasa Yoga Instructor, Shri Studio, Pawtucket, RI

Lead three 90 minute Vinyasa classes per week. Substitute as needed for other instructors.

05/2010-11/2010: Private Vinyasa Yoga Instructor, Providence, RI

Provided private, in-home instruction to a small group (2-4) of yoga students.

Volunteer & Community Involvement:

09/2010 & 06/2011: Assistant Vegan Chef, Eyes of the World Yoga Retreat, Cuttyhunk, MA

Assist Emrys Tetu, Vegan Chef, in preparing meals for group of 13 yogis at a three day retreat.

01/2010: Kid’s Yoga Workshop, YMCA, Barrington, RI

Designed and executed a 1 hour workshop for children between the ages of 6-8 yrs old. Aimed to introduce young children to peer acceptance, breathing practice and simple postures.

03/2010: Red Tent V-Day Event, Providence, RI

Provided 30 minute, low-impact yoga teaching instruction for one-day women’s event.

04/2010: Meditation Workshop Facilitator, The Met School, Providence RI

Facilitated a two part meditation workshop for high-school students. Employed breathing practices and visualization techniques from Jack Kornfield’s work, A Path with Heart.

05/2010-06/2010: Community Yoga Instructor, Dirt Palace, Providence, RI

Designed and conducted a free introduction to yoga, 5-week series, at a local women’s collective.
